A very colorful and one of the most traditional events of all. The day of the dead celebrations is a true tradition in Mexico and taken very seriously in Ajijic and Chapala, where loved ones visit the local cemeteries to honor their dead by bringing them music and making altars in their honor. In Ajijic you will see the altars lined up along the plaza, while in Chapala they are displayed on Madero street in front of the malecon and municipal building. Some people opt to see the altars while other bring food and music to the cemetery visiting the grave site of their loved ones. Below is this years picture set:
